Updated - Sunday 15:00

Due to various problems with the time machine the cubs have been delayed and will not be arriving back until 16:45 - 17:00 this afternoon

NEWS SO FAR

Everyone arrived safely on Friday evening. The journey was much longer than expected due to an accident on the motorway. The Cubs were very well behaved.

After settling in, we went for a walk, to explore the site.

Everyone slept well. We have had breakfast.

Very soon we will enter the time machine to start our journey back in time.

I’ll let you know how we got on IF we get back.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even though we are still in the past we have managed to get an update through to you all back in 2009. The time machines first port of call was the Roman era where we made some Roman army bread and some wonderful mosaics. (Pictured below).

We then moved on to Tudor times where we made some original Tudor rope. After this we had a crate challenge that everyone really enjoyed and showed some fantastic teamwork. I think the record was 10 crates (Picture below).

We're now sitting down to a Royal roast dinner feast that even Henry VIII would be proud of.

All being well the time machine should bring us back to 2009 just in time to get home tomorrow afternoon.

Parents collect 3.30pm

Dear Parents,

Below is a useful check list of items for camp. It is a good idea to let your child pack their own bag once you have laid out the items together so they know what is in it. Try to pack each days clothes in a separate plastic bag, then if they happen to put something wet in the bag everything else doesn’t get wet. Have a separate bag for jumper and long trousers. Please feel free to add to the list if necessary. Even though we are staying inside, the evenings can get cold. Any questions don’t hesitate to ring me.

Please Do Not Visit Site Unless Prior Arrangement Has Been Made as this can often upset a child who has been fine.

Please do not ask parents on camp to keep you informed on your child, it is unfair on them and they may inadvertently give out a negative message through misinterpreting how a cub handles life on camp. Call me if concerned.

I will always contact a parent if a serious problem arose or if a cub continued to be unhappy.

All Parents on camp have been Police Checked

The named cub is taking Medicine, which will be handed to Simon with full instructions and clearly labelled.          Yes/No

If it becomes necessary for my child to receive medical treatment and I cannot be contacted by telephone or any other means to authorise this, I hereby give my general consent to any necessary medical treatment and authorise the Scouter in charge of the camp to sign any document required by the hospital authorities.

Note: The medical profession takes the view that the parent’s consent to medical treatment cannot be delegated. This view is explicit in the Child Act 1989. Thus medical consent forms have no legal status and a doctor/nurse insisting on the consent of a parent to a particular treatment has the right to do so. For this reason we do not recommend that Leaders insist on parents signing the statement above. However, it can be a comfort to medical staff to have general consent in advance from parents or to have a Leader on hand able to sign forms required by medical authorities.
